1. Agreement
By downloading, accessing or using Cookestra, you agree to these terms and the applicable Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Mandatory consumer rights in your country continue to apply.
2. What Cookestra provides
Cookestra provides authored recipes, recommendation tools, cooking steps, timers, meal and shopping planning, voice guidance, education and optional Chef+ features. Availability may vary by device, region, language, Apple service status and subscription.
We may improve recommendations, correct recipes and change or retire features. We aim to preserve saved user data and paid access where reasonably possible, but do not promise that every feature or recipe will remain unchanged forever.
3. Cooking, allergens and safety
Recipes and notices are informational. Ingredient formulations, kitchen conditions, equipment, local regulations and individual health needs differ. Always inspect product labels, avoid cross-contact, follow appliance instructions and use an appropriate food thermometer. If you have a severe allergy, medical condition, pregnancy-related concern or dietary treatment plan, seek qualified professional advice.
Timers and critical-temperature guidance are aids, not guarantees. Never leave hazardous cooking unattended or rely on a phone, Watch, Live Activity or voice command as the only safety control.
4. Chef+ subscriptions
Chef+ may be offered as an auto-renewing monthly or annual subscription. Product availability, local price, currency, taxes, trial eligibility, trial end date and the next charge are shown by Apple before purchase. The annual plan may be presented as the primary option. A free trial applies only when Apple shows that offer as eligible for your account.
Payment is charged to your Apple account. Subscriptions renew unless cancelled through Apple at least 24 hours before the current period ends, subject to Apple's storefront rules. You can manage or cancel in Apple subscription settings and restore eligible purchases in Cookestra. Refund requests are handled by Apple under its policies.
5. Acceptable use
You must not:
- circumvent subscription, App Attest or content protections;
- scrape, bulk-copy, redistribute, resell or publish the recipe catalogue or Chef+ packages;
- interfere with the app, service, rate limits or another person's use;
- use Cookestra in violation of law or another person's rights.
We may restrict premium delivery when verification fails, access is revoked, or activity threatens security. Core safety information is not intentionally placed behind a paywall.
6. Content and your notes
Cookestra's software, editorial system, original text, artwork, branding and curated collections are protected by intellectual property law. Your personal notes and modifications remain yours. You grant only the limited permission needed to store, display and, when you enable it, sync that information for you.

7. Availability and liability
Cookestra is provided with reasonable care, but the service may occasionally be unavailable, delayed or inaccurate. To the extent permitted by law, Cookestra is not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, or limits rights provided by mandatory consumer law.
8. Ending use and changes
You may stop using Cookestra at any time. Cancelling Chef+ stops future renewals but does not automatically erase app or iCloud data. See Data choices for removal steps.
We may update these terms. Material changes will be identified by a new effective date and communicated where required. Continued use after an effective change constitutes acceptance only where allowed by law.
